What makes a good reference photo?

Every portrait starts with a reference photo.

The ideal photo is:

• Taken outside

• Animal not too close or too far on the camera

• Sharp with the eyes in focus

• Accurately reflect the colour of your pet

• Shows something of your pet’s personality

For animals that are no longer around I will try to work with the photos you have but in some cases I may not be able to take on the commission (I will always let you know this before any money is taken).

Below are a selection of my own photos that I am planning to use as reference images. I offer a photography service to clients based in the SP, BH and SO postcodes
